What this site collects
S-LINE Technologies operates this website. We have deliberately built it to collect as little as possible about you, and to depend on no third-party analytics or advertising service.
No third-party tracking
There is no Google Analytics, no advertising pixel, no social media tracking script and no embedded third-party map on this site. No script from another company runs on any public page, so no other company learns that you visited.
Analytics we run ourselves
We measure how the site is used with our own first-party system. For each page view we store:
- the page address you visited, and the site that referred you, if any
- your device type, operating system and browser, derived from the request
- your country
- a masked IP address — the final octet of an IPv4 address is set to zero, and an IPv6 address is truncated to its /64 prefix
- an irreversible visitor identifier, produced by hashing the masked IP address and browser string together with a secret salt
- how long the page was open
We do not store your full IP address at any point, and we do not store any identifier that would survive the secret salt being changed. The visitor identifier cannot be reversed to recover your IP address, and rotating the salt makes every previous identifier meaningless.
Raw page-view records are deleted after 90 days. Only aggregate daily totals are kept beyond that.
Automated crawlers are excluded by their browser string, and signed-in administrators are excluded by a cookie so that our own editing does not appear in the figures.
Cookies
This site sets no cookie for visitors. A single cookie is set only when an administrator signs in to the private admin area, and it exists purely to keep that session open.
When you contact us
If you use the contact form we store the name, company, email address, telephone number and message you provide, so that we can reply. That record is kept in our own database and may also be sent to us by email. We use it to respond to your enquiry and for no other purpose. We do not sell it, and we do not add you to a marketing list without asking.
